Text Box: After the Civil War, the membership scattered.  It was 1874 before a permanent organization was formed.  The Fourth Street Methodist Church, South, served the congregation for many years.  It was destroyed by fire Feb. 3, 1952.  These faithful people then built the present church on Rock Road, the first services being held here Nov. 20, 1955.  Facilities have been updated over the years with beautiful stained glass windows, a sound system including aid for the hearing impaired; organ, piano and keyboard; kitchen and dining room; air-conditioning; library; nursery; etc.
Text Box: St. Andrews' forerunner, The Methodist Episcopal Church of DeSoto was first organized about 1850. Their white frame structure on the corner of Second and Easton was taken over during the Civil War as a hospital for wounded soldiers

Text Box: Above is pictured the Fourth Street Methodist Church which was built in 1900 and served until being destroyed by fire in 1952.  Below is a 1974 picture of our current church...still serving our community.
