The pastor of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church is David Duncan. He came here in July 2017.

Pastor’s Biography

Pastor David Duncan is a native Missourian, having grown up in the small southeast Missouri town of Delta. Upon graduation from college (Southeast Missouri State University) and seminary (Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky), David served churches in Missouri and Utah in the areas of Music, Christian Education, and Youth Ministry.

I suppose the time we spent in Utah became some of the most defining times in our lives. The necessity of embracing many things outside our comfort zone became one of the greatest blessings of our lives together. Being far removed from our extended families caused us to embrace the ‘family’ we found at church.

After spending some time away from vocational ministry, Duncan entered the field of Pastoral Ministry in 2014.

My time away from being a paid minister gave me perspective about both sides of the pulpit. People’s lives can become crazy busy. That’s why it’s important to carve out time where we can engage with others in things like worship, or small groups, or mission activities. Whether we recognize it or not, the human heart calls out to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. For me, that ‘something bigger’ is the call of following the ways of Jesus Christ through the local church, for which I am grateful to be a Pastor.

David is married to the former Barbara Bloom, who works for the Farmington School District, the school from which she graduated. They have one daughter, Anna, who resides with her husband in Kansas City, Missouri. The Duncans enjoy doing musical things together and apart, and have struck up a fondness for finding new purposes for old stuff…..something that seems rather biblical.
