St. Andrew's will be part of DeSoto Christmas House Tour Sat., Nov. 27. We will set up our 3rd annual Nativity Set display for this event--to add to our featured stained glass windows. Christian sympathy is extended to Frank Talbert and family on the death of his wife, Mary Anne, on August 18, 2010.

Christian sympany is extended to John White and family on the death of his wife, Janet, on August 25, 2010.

Louise Myers has been a recent patient at Jefferson Regional Hospital and is now recuperating at home.

Chancel Choir is resuming their weekly rehearsals, starting Wed., September 1, at 7:00 p.m.  If you are interested in singing in the choir, please join us!

 

Community Dinner Friday, September 17

 Menu items are still pending, but it promises to be a delicious and healthy meal.  Better mark your calendar!

DE SOTO'S GOT TALENT VARIETY SHOW, SEPTEMBER 18

Auditions will be held 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 10--Call 586-2987 if interested.

Show to be held at De Soto Jr. High Gymnasium.  Dinner before show (6:00) is $20; Show only (7:00) is $5.  For dinner reservations: 586-2987.

flouride toothpaste, 6 oz or more; toothbrush; bath-size soap; skin lotion, 11-14 oz.; shampoo, 11-14 oz.;1 washcloth; 1 hand towel; 1 deodorant; 1 comb or brush; 2 razons, disposable.

Collection begins 9/5.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School was a one-day affair this year.  It was held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, at St. Andrew's UMC. Cooperating churches were the following Methodist churches:  First DeSoto, Mt. Olive, Victoria, Hematite, and St. Andrew's plus Hope United Church of Christ.  Pastor Nancy Smith of First UMC was the VBS director.   The theme was "Galactic Blast", a Cosmic Adventure Praising God.  Children experienced inspiring music, Bible stories, missions, crafts, recreation, and healthy snacks and lunch.  Rev. Nancy Hollingsworth, pastor at Victoria and Hematite, led the Bible study.  Our district superintendant, Rev. Ann Rathert, visited during the morning. 

GATEWAY REGIONAL CLUSTER-CHARGE CONFERENCE AT ST. ANDREW'S SUN., OCT. 10, 1:30

Our church has been selected to host this year's cluster Charge Conference.  We will be responsible for hosting those coming from other churches.
